I heard this before. I actually used to have a TM28 Flatslide on it and I always had some trouble with the idle. The VM26 is perfectly dialed in and idles fantastic. Now I am sure that a 28 will produce some larger numbers, especially on the top end, but the majority of the riding will take place 6000-7000 rpm I would think and having a huge carb isn't likely to help that much in that range.

To cut right to the chase, it doesn't have the torque or the flywheel affect that I want, which isn't going to change no matter what carb or how advanced I make the timing.

Here is my point. I just assembled a Honda Trail Bikes 108cc kit with race head and stuck it in another CT70. It has the TB manual clutch on it and a Lifan mini outer rotor on it. This bike, while having much less power, is more along the lines of how I want the bike to perform for takeoff...flywheel affect, I can lug it down at 3000 rpm in 4th gear and it is fine.

I rode this Taky 124+r, the TB108, and a YX170V2 all back to back yesterday and by far the 170v2 is the easiest one to ride and has WAAAAAAY more torque. It has a LOT more power than the 124+r as well.

I think maybe just some flywheel affect is all I want, but that means I have to give up my fancy clutch (and not sure a TB manual will hold 14hp) and then I also have to drill/tap the cover so I can keep my oil takeoffs where they are at.
