I won't get a chance to talk to my CT70-enthusiast friend until tomorrow, but if you've got the later forks with the male part up top and the female part down below, that kind of shoots my theory, which was that the very early CT70s had undamped forks with female part on top, like
Z50s do, and maybe the springs would interchange. But I'll ask when I see him. Maybe you could just change to a heavier weight of fork oil, or run more fork oil than you do now, and see how it feels before getting into spring-swapping?
