Here is the test for the Honda style regulator/rectifier. Not sure if this is what you have or not. Disregard the scale in ohms, your meter may read differently than what they have. When I run the test on a known good reg/rect, my meter reads megohms. As long as you're getting a resistance value where you should be and reading infinity where it says you should be then the units ok. Note: the left side of the graph is for your positive probe and the right side is the neg probe.
Depending on how you have it wired these things are easy to fry (especially the Chinese ones).
