My Mood: | Re: CL70 I picked up today Just this fuzzy phone pic. I'll get a couple legit ones, once I get it put the rest of the way together. Still gotta tuck away the wiring, get a chain, clutch and front brake cable on, swap the TOO quick KX60 throttle for my Mini-Gasser, etc...

LOL. Bombs/Bomber/Abominable, is 100lbs of American Bulldog. Now that we sorted out that I'm Alpha (besided the wife and daughter, of course...) he's tolerable.

Did you say, "Here, kids!" and hand the dogs an inner tube and the kid a BBQ pork steak? Silencing tactic?

I rode it today! Around the block, about a mile. No front brake cable or left grip, but it's a rider, finally. The little 117 4-speed is fine for riding the neighborhood. I didn't get on it too hard, between the front brake thing and the big FMF's bark would rile the old folks in the 'hood. Suspension's a little mushy, but that's easy enough fix. I might keep the mill in there. Gonna try a TB pipe soon.

Perhaps, but is it not also perfect for a small-mill build, for those same graceful, narrow wheels allow one to be whisked to and fro with stately, elegant carriage? (Especially FP). |

The acceleration rate of my K2 is either "glacial" or "imperceptible," take your pick. A CL70 with a 117 in it sounds like a top fueler by comparison.

Once I get the brakes working right, and get on a real road, it may seem less OK. Maybe use it for an e-start testbed. Or put something big & scary between the wheels

I'm torn. The CL almost isn't a "mini", more of a little motorcycle. Hell, I even fit comfortably on it. I'll have to see if the 117 pulls me on the main streets. I tried mocking up Clubmans and rearsets, but it's still a little cozy for that. I push WAY too much air for it to ever be real fast. I'll try my VM24 on it (TB20 now) and see how it pulls. Gonna try to route the intake back in to the frame like stock, and run a quieter pipe so it's not as offensive. Still need some wiring for the lights, etc. Would be fun with a biggie in it, though. I was thinking of making a DragZter from the 79, to use as a testbed.
