Re: CrawlerD's hardtail build...

Very nice. Is that a 12v? I want to keep the original key and graft it into the original harness. Is that what you did?

#2 on that! Nice hardtail! Like the flame paint on the tank.

That's what I did Dave. It's pretty easy. Or just make your wiring harness. I can help you with that if you like. Nice to still have the key ignition.

Re: CrawlerD's hardtail build...

I'm diggin both the skipinout and RS hardtails here. I like how the skipinout one combines some custom touches with a stock pipe and handlebars; it's a subtle custom in a way and super clean. The RS one has those neat engine-turned pieces like the top triple and the chain guard, which are to me sort of like nods to the custom touches you'd have seen on old lakes-type hot rods once upon a time.

What's that bike used for, with the number plates?

Re: CrawlerD's hardtail build...

47 is our race number, we put it on all our machines. My son races MX and I road race a 911. The meaning of 47 to us is my sons initials are AK so he’s AK-47, I started racing at age 47.

Thanks

Re: CrawlerD's hardtail build...

Oh, I see; I'd wondered if you raced the hardtail in some sort of vintage mini roadracing or something. I don't know that there is such a thing, but if there isn't, there should be.
