cool. I think a good deal is determined by what the spare parts bring on eBay.

nice score on the parts.

Can you post some details on the powder oven build? Are you using plans?

Specs on the oven are; 3 feet wide X 3 feet deep X 5 feet high (inside dimensions), 3 inches of mineral wool insulation all the way around, two 3000 watt and one 3100 watt @ 240 volts elements. For inner and outer framing I used 1"X1" angle iron and some 1"X2" hollow rectangular steel for the door frame and door. The temp controller I'm using is a PID that controls a solid state relay to switch on and off the elements inside the oven (accurate to +/- 1 degree) it's all digital and programmable.

As for plans, I'm not using any, building it from scratch by myself with a few ideas from pictures on another message board.
I'll try to get some pictures of the oven in progress up tomorrow night if I have time, I just got my outer layer of sheet metal delivered this afternoon so I'll be pretty busy, should be ready for a test burn by next week, anyone need a big batch of cookies

As for the Z50 builds, looks like you guys will have to subscribe to the magazine when it comes out, Nick contacted me last night about putting the builds in the mag, so there will be no more updates on here

I guess I didn't take too many pictures of the oven as I was building it, here's one of the inner section framed and sheet metaled, and the framing for the outer section.

And here's the finished oven, should be able to fit at least 2 mini frames in at a time

I haven't coated anything yet in it, need some more powder. But I did fire it up and it'll reach 500 degrees no problem so I can do ceramic coatings on exhaust systems too

I'm thinkin' the same way, the magazine is a great idea and a great way to grow the sport. I mean, seeing it beside transworld and racerX at the newsstand would be pretty cool. I may have to decline the offer of a magazine only build as I kind of like the fact that I can post my progress on the boards here and get "instant" feedback on ideas and suggestions. I'll do some more thinkin' about it, and let you guys know next year...haha

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
