If that CT is a beater I will have to come up with a new term for my old trusty H.

Seeing that blue CT brings back memories of two of my riding buddies when I was a kid; two brothers who each had CTs. One H model and one 3-speed. Both of them were in about the same state of regular farm usage grime that yours is, and both of them ran for several years with almost no maintenance at all, pretty much unappreciated by kids who wanted to move up to RM125s or whatever. Looking back now those were probably the most reliable of all the many bikes those two guys had between them over the years.

Cool bike. Beaters rock.

I bought it in mid July and finished it in mid December. I spent right around $3,000 and 50-60 hours in the restoration process.

Thanks Tom, that candy ruby red KO is a pretty much an all original bike, swapped it with a buddy for a crossover Z50AK1.

On the plates-the blue base were introduced in July 1970,but it was not uncommon to see even 1971 models come with black base as DMV branch offices had to exhaust their respective inventory of those. I love the black base as they look great on any color bike.

Beautiful bike!! Very nice job. Is the paint metal flake instead of the candy clear? It looks excellent.

Re: Let's See Everyone's CT70 and Dax

It's an actual color matched candy paint kit ecspecially made for vintage trail bikes. The seller makes kits to match all the old trail 70 colors. It only cost me $128.00 and it came with everything.

Here's the link........ Buy Honda CT70 Paint - OEM Candy Paint Colors for the Honda Mini Trail 70

Re: Let's See Everyone's CT70 and Dax

Hey everyone I'm new to the site, thought i'd post my 1986/1982 ct70. Started out as an 1986, I'm from canada by the way. I had no papers for it and the frame had damage around the two big front grommet holes on the sides of the frame, so i found an 82 frame close by for $125 with papers. Painted that frame to match my 86 and swapped everything over. Now i've got a road legal 82 and I've only got around $250 into it total. I got the original bike out of a garage i was cleaning out, i was loading everything metal into a dumptruck and the guy was going to toss the bike too so i took it of his hands. It was complete minus engine side covers, kick start lever, and ignition switch. It was also covered in primer, even the damn seat and there was overspay all over the guage panel and forks and wheels. I cleaned all the primer off with gas and a rag over the course af a weekend and got the parts i needed dirt cheap of ebay, got it all off the same guy and he charged me actual shipping with everthing in the same box. It only has 700km on it and all wear items such as brakes, tirea clutch, engine and seat are in nearly perfect shape. The engine fires up 1st kick in -10 weather. Anyways heres pics. I still have a few things to buy, like signals and a taillight, but its gonna be insured this spring and will be a blast.
