Henry was talking about even the 250's, but it didn't sound like he'd spent a lot of time on them. I guess when you're already a pro they just pay you to go straight to 450's. Plus, I'm guessing the tracks he's talking about are bigger. Does your mini pull wheelies when you're already at 45mph?

Yes, he looked cool, and that's all most amatuer racers have.

You got a problem with that!?!

also the problem with a ysr, is theres not alot of engine braking to help out compared to a 4-stroke.... Is that right, cause thats what i "heard", but u know how that is sometimes.

i think "backing it in" on a track is alot easier than you think. kinda comes naturally if your going at a race pace. SLAM the Front brake, drag the rear brake, DOWN SHIFT and pop/modulate the clutch, and as you lean in, the back sorta does it on its own. i surprised the hell out of myself when i started doing it. makes for some exciting drama when your doing this side by side on a tight indoor track at the end of a fast straight!

Engine braking-ysr, those words don't even belong in the same sentence. Unless you have a 426 conversion.

Backing it in....

We do this a lot when we are ice racing. The stockers are almost too twitchy, but on the setup I use it allows you to back it in and take the line away for some tight passes.....gotta watch out for those nasty studs spinning wide open in second as you back it in on someone.

I run a bbr super pro w/ a +3 and sano lt6 forks. I can lay it down backing it in so that I have the pegs folded all the way up on the ice. It is not the fastest way around unless it is a tight turn, but it can definitely allow you to stuff someone and try to get it upright asap while putting the power down on the ice.

wow all of you guys must be really good riders to pull off moves like these i just ride for fun and couldnt imagine riding so hard and fast that the back of the motor bike would just slide sideways like that ..?

I don't know if the sliding was helping the guy in the video go any faster, but it looked fun! Depending on the track, backing it in might not always be the best way for speed. It can work for offense though, ask Jake Zemke. My favorite race ever, he cockblocked Duhamel a hand full of times in the F-X finale sliding his bike in the way.

Re: any mini riders "back it in"

The video is kind of ****ty, but you can kind of see a lil backin it in going into this corner. If i wasnt in such a battle you could see it better. I think its just a style of riding that comes along as you get comfortable on a bike. Just like he said-lots of front brake, a lil from the rear, and down shifting with cluch properly. I think it works very good on this corner, and it sets me up just perfect coming out of it.
