Re: Accelerator pump carburetor

I've got a customer with one on pre-order for his DRZ. MSRP on it was $1170.00.

Crazy! Very good carbs for sure. I might get one for the LXR after a few of my guys have run them and we see how they work out.

Re: Accelerator pump carburetor

A pumper carb only works when you increase the throttle at low RPM's. Any other time it is just the same as the same carb without a pump.

Please send $100 for the advice and keep the other $400 in your pocket.

Re: Accelerator pump carburetor

I have the a Mikuni 28mm flatside pumper carb and it looks exactly the same as the yoshi ones.Well just not all blinged out,but so far as i have seen it keeps spraying fuel until you stop twisting the throttle. My fcr downdraft carb does the samething except the spray nozzle sprays more fuel. I love the pumper carbs especially the fcr but i couldn't get it tuned right so i settled with the mikuni pumper instead.

If i remember correctly edlebrock makes a pumper carb also.I thougt i had a pic of the edlebrock carb.I'll have to search it.

Re: Accelerator pump carburetor

yeah i agree, but i know that the yoshi carb has a needle with holes in it. i think its the only one with that.
i think the pump is worth it, i know that when i ride i turn the throttle from fully closed to wide open. so why would i not want a pump to shoot more fuel into the carb when i do that? or when you land off a jump and get it pinned, the pump will eliminate bog there for sure.
