Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

I have never seen pitster say they wouldn't take care of anything that was just purchased, It either wasn't in stock or there was a mix up. As far as I have seen they have always taken care of the problem. This dude got his stuff it just took a little longer than he wanted.

Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

No company has a 100% client satisfaction record, I think for the money and quality of bike you get when you buy a pitster you should be happy with the $3000 savings over building up a KLX/CRF.

Joshua, - If a customer purchases a new bike whether it be from Honda, Kawi or an import vendor, it should be rideable out of the crate after routine maintenance/assembly is done. A local dealer would do setup and have it ready to ride. If it is not, the issue needs to be remedied by the selling dealer within a specified window of time relayed by the seller with no exceptions unless noted during those discussions. Period.

There should be no suprise delays, no promises going unkept, and the customers should be able to reach the dealer who can reach the distributor with open lines of communication.

Every business runs into snags, but if the communication continually breaks down, either the company is going to have to adapt by providing better support or earn itself a reputation of having crappy customer service.

Personally, if I were an import distributor, I'd look long and hard at my downwind supply chain and cut out all the businesses wanting to dropship who don't touch the merchandise, as most are selling below suggested retail and thus the reason why they are getting the business, and some aren't adding value to the equation. Some dealers are, while others are collecting a free check.

I have nothing else to add to this thread except if I was the customer, you can bet your boots I'd be on fire if I received defective or damaged merchandise and for one reason or the other got the run around or couldn't get a timely resolution.

Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

Did this dude buy direct? Has he talked with Pitster over the past few days? What is going on with his order? I haven't heard of Gary ever screwing over someone on warranty issues, and I doubt he will start with this guy over a $30 part.

Double amen brother, That is in part what I tried to say on my thread. "Are all chinese bikes junk?" Finally a like minded soul in here.

Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

This topic is bigger than pitser alone or any other single brand. Quality, not quantity man. Or too cheap either. Cheap is just that.........CHEAP.

Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

I have worked for my own business about 10 out of the 33 years I have been in the workforce. I presently manage computer support in a school district with 7000 users. I have a thorough familiarity with the entitlement mentality and do not like it either.

The rest of my bikes are Honda's as I have a CRF150F and a CRF250X. I do not expect Honda level of service or quality. I do expect the thing to either be workable out of the crate or sent the part that will make it workable out of the crate without being misled and in a timely fashion. To me that is not an entitlement mentality. That is an expectation that a business transaction will be completed in a satisfactory professional manner. That course of events would have been better for both Pitster and me.

Pitster would not sell nearly as many bikes if their stated motto was the bike is sold as-is no matter what and you get whatever the factory felt like putting in the crate that day. The forums here and elsewhere rip sellers to shreds daily that follow that course.

Not sure why you feel so strongly I am to blame for receiving defective merchandise and then wanting it to be made right. I have read many of your posts and you seem to be a thoughtful indivdual. We just disagree I guess.

Good luck to you in your endeavors.

If it's a big outlay and you can't afford the associated running costs after that, are the upfront savings from going cheap really savings, and should you have really spent that money in the first place?

I'm getting into full size bike racing this coming spring. The primary bit of advice everyone's given me: Make sure I can afford to take a total loss on my bike and gear on the very first lap. If I can't live with that, I can't afford to race, even though I can afford to build and prep a machine right now.

Re: Pitster Pro customer service sucks!!!!

I want people to now my issue with Pitster Pro. I just bought a brand new X4 with the 160cc engine. I started to break in and noticed it had some type of a jetting problem. So I called up the dealer who I went threw and he told me he has 15 people with the same problems. I expressed my frustration and he told me to begin working on the carb. So did only cause I wanted to ride. He told me to change pin, didn't work. He told me to change float hight didn't work. So then he told me Ill send you a new makuni carb. Guess what it ran worse. So I went and called pitster pro. yes I was pissed cause its a brand new bike. I shouldn't have to do this, it should run right like advertised. Gary told me to drive 60 miles to some dealer that has nothing to do with it so he could work on it. I told him no I have already spent over ten hours working on a brand new bike and I missed the last part of my season. I want a new engine and carb to fix this, he laugh at me. He really thinks that I should not be upset about this and his fix is for me to drive 60 miles away drop it off, then drive 60 miles back and then drive home again only to hope it gets fixed. That is very bad business. Dont buy a pitster pro yes they are a great bike when running right but do you want to end up like me $2,000 into a new bike that doesn't run.

I'm not taking sides on this, but bikes don't run perfect out of the box due to differing altitudes and differing carb setups. You have to dial in (rejet) the carb and go through a complete setup and inspection.

If you don't have the knowledge to dial in a carb, you need to pay someone to do this work for you.

If you purchase a bike from a brick and mortar dealer, they set up bikes for you and when you pick it up, it's ready to ride.

When you purchase a bike out of a crate, it's up to you to set up the bike and get it to run to your liking which includes jetting.

Again, I'm not taking sides, just stating a viewpoint.

As stated to you on the phone, I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! I am sorry for the problems with your bike, but we do stand behind our product and wil sove the issues you have.

Also just a FYI his Dealer sent him a new VM 26 free of change, so obviously we are not leaving you high and dry, As I told you we will find out what the problem is and take care of it. Digging up 2 yr old threads to try and bash me is really not going to help me be motivated to help you. I am reasonable and will help you get the bike going!!
