Well, the billet trans would cost some good change up front to get built. That would be a last resort, and there would have to be a decent demand for them. However, if its just one gear breaking on these transmissions a single billet gear might be more viable.

Re: YX 150 or New lifan 150?

I'd imagine the Lifan has a better transmission, but there is more power potential with the YX due to it's 110 style top end.

A set of billet cases to accept an existing heavy duty, close ratio trans might not be as pricey

Why do you suspect the transmission is any different from the other long stroke import bases?

My mistake, clutch system. It looks very similiar to the Kitaco setup, which I've always believed to be one of the strongest clutch systems out there. Nice looking cover, not sure what's underneath it.... but am just taking a guess. And Lifan is capable of some nice engines.

As far as transmission, sorry, no clue. If nothing else I think the Lifan is purtier.

With an S-35 cam and 50% nitro you will be well over 20hp. More like 30!?!

Its no fun that way though. Always gotta keep a little something in the bag for when they start getting too close.

Re: YX 150 or New lifan 150?

Seems like the YX is the engine of choice then? How well do these things RPM? Good bottom end pull?

Yea, but this damn nitro is expensive.

Im not sure if there will be much gain from 60%, i dont think the lil engine is efficient enough.
