This is just totally nuts. Kids scamming on the net. This dude needs to be put in jail.

I really hope that all that got taken for there money will get it back. Maybe his dad will kick his ass all over Canada. I know if my son pulled that kind of **** I would.

He was using his 7-8th screen name and a different set of IP's yet again this go around.

If you see or think you see something shady, there is a report post button in each thread. Use it and the note goes to the entiire moderation staff. We don't read all threads all the time, and some of us rarely visit the classifieds.

Buyer and seller beware.

For what it's worth, never, ever, ever buy goods from new members here on PM unless someone you know or someone who has been around awhile can vouch for them.

He pulls the same scam every time. He sells a bike or parts giving killer deals and people line up to lose their money to this clown.

Re: for all the people ripped off by Ryan Skalny

If yall used paypal, then do a claim, if it has been within 60days since the transaction, if he doesn't respond to paypal or prove he sent the products then paypal will refund the money... I recently bought a couple of things on ebay and got ripped on them, within 2 weeks i had my money back, i will never buy anything now without paypal... But in the same way people can bite a legit seller on ebay by lying to ebay or paypal... I sell alot of parts on ebay and i had a guy buy an ninja 636 engine, and i had an extra set of used clutches and a service manual to go with it, the guy didnt' read the listing correctly and didn't even pay for insurance, i think the engine sold for like $300 which is cheap. But he called and said the book and clutches were missing, the engine was in a wood crate when it shipped, he tried to get me to send him 200 bucks back for the missing book and clutches, he proceeded to threaten a paypal claim, but i ended up calling paypal and fedex to let them know whats going on and fedex actually pulled recorded video of the box as it was loaded on the delivery truck and the truck driver called me and told me there was no damage, but fedex called the guy and told him that they would do an investigation on it since he claimed it arrived in a cardboard box, and the guy never said another thing about it. I mean i don't understand why people try to rip off an honest seller. But that was the last thing i sold on ebay b/c everyday i was on the phone with paypal and fedex b/c of that guy.

But sorry for the long post this thread just got to me! had my 4 bikes and a trailer stolen back when i use to race so i know the feeling oh to well.

Re: for all the people ripped off by Ryan Skalny

^^THERES A CATCH though..

I filed a claim the night i found out this was all a scam (last thursday night, also the same night i had paid for my fake parts)

i called paypal friday, the lady i talked to was super nice, she said if i filed a dispute, they would do whatever they can, but since it wasnt eBay, she could not promise they could recover any of my money back at all. She said eBay transactions are covered under paypal, so if you get scammed on there you will recover your money, but other online transactions outside eBay are not covered.
As i said, i immediately filed a dispute, its just the lady said they really doubt they can recover anything at all. She said if the guy drains his paypal account and credit card..theres really nothing they wanted to do.

Just didnt want to get anyones hopes up after they read your post...definately going to have to take this further like I'm doing than just a paypal dispute I think.

Traut811 has got it correct. If the sale happens outside of Ebay, then PayPal won't pursue it.

That's why whenever you buy something via PayPal off a forum or anywhere other than eBay, you should pay with a credit card. The CC company will almost always go after the thief for the money back. They also may credit your card back the money even if they can't get them money, since most have fraud protection.

Why not just call your credit card co. and reverse the charges.
