i essentially sent what i posted on here but a little different, and this is what i got back: Hi Amber…thanks for your email. Here’s the problem Amber…if we had more girls we would not need to lower age class .... Last year.....1 girl from CHP was upset because she was only 15....was that you? LOL Thanks again Amber and look forward to seeing you in Vegas! J so my reply to that was: lol no im 22. and she wasnt CHP, it's just my self, Ashley Fiolek, jackie ives, and emily phillips. idk. i forget. perhaps she should have entered the youth class? then her age would not have been a factor. yes i see you want to attract more girls, and i can say with much certinty that splitting Amature and Expert would help with that, because like I said our turn out doubled, and more than half said they only raced because they had a chance with split classes, but I guess like i said before women are the red headed step sister to the rest at this event... But i do understand you guys have your reasons and i do know what all goes into putting on a race. Justin and I did everything for the TX national, so i do get it and i get how hard it is to try to apease everyone at once. I really encourage you to at least try splitting the classes one year and if the turn out isnt large gate 'em together, and say at least we tried and go back to one class the next year. I really think the most logical solution would have been first to split the classes not lower the age, especially since every year EVERY GIRL bitches about it being all one class. this is Vegas and we pay a crap load of $$ to come race this event and it would be nice to not have kids and squids all over the place. And I would race Expert, I'm not complaining so I can ride with slower girls, good lord no, i'd just be happy to not have all the other's in my way. Honestly didn't think I would get far, but was hoping an opinion from one of the WOMEN riders would be food for thought in upcoming years. anyways in my, and many other women's opinion it's not a good idea. thank for getting back to me so quick. You take care and we'll see you in VEGAS!!! ps i was really hoping to here what you had to say on the Pollitelli comparison i made before, here is what i said: And if we are allowing youth to ride in the women's class, which tim clark told me 2 years was considered "expert", then shouldn't Austin Politelli be able to ride MM10E nad MM12E? the kids fast enough.. but maybe you would worry about other KIDS out there with all the PRO guys... see my point, we are the "PRO" girls, and dont need little kids in our way nothing back after that... but Lyle did call him so IDK. It's stupid, and hazardous. way to go Mini Moto!!! Last edited by Amber86; 02-12-2009 at 02:07 PM. | |

hmm. CHP didn't have the same standards tho regarding age. Would it be different if there were more room? I don't know. It's easy to throw rocks, but I'd race the event a few more years and do well before hollerin at them about fast youngsters in the class who mind you won't be in your or my way, but likely lapping us. Splitting the class will likely reap great results, and they know that. It's all about the politics, and they simply to not have time for the ladies class. If I can get a 6th and an 8th place behind the fast girls with all the chaos, so can you if you ride it good. Last edited by High Maintenance; 02-12-2009 at 03:33 PM. |

Can anyone let me know on a few things please as we will be comming over from the Uk 1) Do we have to sign up/register on the mmsx site before the event or can we do this on the day ? 2) What happens if we do not recive our AMA card before the event ? Just hope it all comes together as few things are very vague at the moment |

so... about one of the Youth classes: MM12Y Stock/Mod- 12” Rear Wheel YOUTH Class- You must be a minimum of 9 years of age and under 13 years of age... Will this class continue to happen? I kinda doubt it with all the stuff going on this week. It seems that tracks will not be allowed to let kids 12 - under race/ride. |
