| No spark, tested coil/stator/etc---ok??
Hey all,
In brief, we have had this little SSR 70B with a 70cc Jialing. Got it new 1.5 yrs ago from Nate @ outlaw, and have never had one single spark issue, until this.
I thought my little boy had accidentally mashed the kill switch when I was lifting him off, that is how suddenly and "normally" it shut off.
However, I have spent lots of hours testing stuff and searching this forum and am unsure if these test results are within spec or not, as Nate cannot give me the specs.
3 wks later still have not found it.
1. disconnected kill switch
2. proved continuity for all wires/connections
3. proved all grounds and even ground off more paint for better connection on the ignition coil mount.
4. tested components w/ multimeter--results:
I. ignition coil:
A. primary: it read 0.6 ohms
B. secondary: 2800 ohms
II. stator
A. exciter: 990 ohms
1. (as for as AC voltage, out of about 7 kicks, it will register 4 volts, one time only, then you must kick 7 more times for it to repeat at 4 volts again...). But I was told that it is impossible to measure the voltage here, as it is too quick (??).
B. pick-up: 435 ohms
III. charging coil / lighting coil (white wire and a yel wire): this bike does not use either lights or battery, but has these wires and stator coils, so I checked to see if they were putting out any AC voltage, and could not find any, even when I hold them with my bare hand.
Thanks for reading all of this, but I have been at this for 3wks, and have been riding for years, and need your help on this one w/o throwing $$$ at it!
