Re: My TB 88 Build

Switching gearing

I have the AHP 4-Speed and I'm looking to get a different front sprocket. I know I need to look for the z50 type sprockets, but are they 17mm or 20mm?

I am currently running 15/37 would I be able to switch to 16/34 without changing the length of the chain? Or go the other direction for more torque?

The reason I ask is because depending where I'm at I'll be doing either dirt or street but never at the same time.. It would be cool to get a little more top end or more grunt from time to time.

Re: My TB 88 Build

17mm, but I can't see why you'd need to vary the gearing much, with the ratio spread in that box. See where you're at in the chain adjuster slot, and a tooth or two on the front may not need chain mods. You can always grab a spare master link and regular link, to swap a few teeth when you wanna ride the expressway on the way to the trials event

Re: My TB 88 Build

Mainly just want to vary the gearing because I want to see how fast (top speed) I can get this thing to. It would be cool passing cars on a country road (illegally).

My goal is to eventually get it street legal
