For years F-1 cars ran their own blends of fuel with heavy metals and all kinds of strange stuff. That was in the days of 1300-1500hp turbcharged 4 cylinder motors with powerbands of 1500rpm. I remember Ron Dennis (F1 team manager) saying it cost over $700 dollars a gallon to blend that stuff.
