Just a 3 plate clutch. It's only an 88. Save your sheckles for something else. If you want detailed pics of the Sterdy (ATC70.com) stainless exhaust, hit me up.

P.S. Start a new thread.

Re: ATC Intro - Z's ATC70 Beater Build

I had some more garage time yesterday to continue to work on my beater ATC build for the kids.

Got the 88cc engine buttoned up and mounted, installed the sterdy exhaust and cleaned up the 24 years of grime off the frame. Added the CDI conversion to the engine and over the course of the next week, I'll wire up the CDI assembly and shorten the inner throttle cable so the ATC thumb throttle will work with the PC20 Keihin Carb.

Other then painting the wheels and what's already bolted on the bike, the rest of the parts are staying original. The seat and plastics are in great shape.

All in all, for me, this is as cheap as my projects get and will be years of fun for the kids at the farm. I may have to add a 6 pack rack so I can carry refreshments to our fishing spots.

Re: ATC Intro - Z's ATC70 Beater Build

Gave the ATC88 a test ride today and will have it done over the next couple of weeks. Why anyone would want anything bigger then an 88cc motor is beyond me. I installed new sprockets and kept the stock 13T front and 36T rear so I can utilize the low end when we take the beast up to the hunting grounds to blow off steam.

Pics coming soon. Consider this the consummate beater build to give it a refreshen so the kids can have something to be proud of.

Re: ATC Intro - Z's ATC70 Beater Build

The ATC88 beater build is done! I'll install some new wheel bearings this winter in front and rear and some other finishing touches after the riding season comes to a close.

Installed new tires and painted the wheels.
Rebuilt engine and detailed it up with some cold-fusion parts.
Plastics, seat and tank is all original.

88cc TB BBK with Race head, TB oil pump, TB clutch, new pull start
Sterdy Exhaust. PC20 carb.
Ebay CDI conversion kit to replace the points.

The kids love it.

Not very much. I can lift it in the back of my SUV with a little rangling. No more then a CT70.

Less then a CT70, and more then you.

I remember when I was a kid and thought these were awesome looking. They look pretty ugly and dated to me now, but you got lucky and found a super clean one.

Dave,

I'm sure Sterdy will sell you the can (ATC70.com) but be warned the exhaust is fooking loud! Email 'em. It's a nice exhaust, but I would prefer something slightly more quiet. The good thing is if the kids are out of my sight range at the farm, I can hear them from a pretty good distance away.

I don't have time. This is why it takes me years to finish simple projects...
