The 8074 is signifcantly different than the 606. When comparing the two side by side, the main jet ends up off by no less than 5 sizes and the top speeds were different as well. The 8074 has a lever choke and uses a different pilot.

The chinese knockoff mikunis take the VM606 pilot and then use a Keihin main....and they underperform compared to a true mikuni.
