At the Havasu race last weekend (the first day I rode my motor that I bought on here used) my bike was running great all through practice. Then in the first moto when I went to pin it for a table, it shut off and bogged super super bad. I had to let off and slowly roll on the throttle and it was back to normal for a lap or two, then it would do it again. My first idea from a friend was that my CHP filter was getting sucked into the carb. This would make sense because it has no reinforcing metal spring to keep it out. Also, to use the stock fuel line from the petcock to the carb, I had to use a smaller adapter to fit the OKO 26mm carb. Even if this isn't the main issue, could this gap from a big hose to a slightly smaller one be part of the bog? If so, what is the right size hose? because an adapter would always be from big to small, which is what it is now.

Guys,

I noticed the exhaust header (two brothers) was glowing red hot this evening. I am running a BBR U-Flow filter as well. I have not jetted the carb yet, per BBRs reccomendations (100 main 38 pilot). The engine is an 04 model which apparently has had the valves adjusted and a new 08 pistin and rings. I have only run this in the garage so I am not sure of how it runs under load (with my son on it). The engine starts with one light kick. No smoke and no strage sounds.

Any ideas?
