new pitbike series with NO turnout?

I just don't get it around here. Started a new pitbike race series here in Va. and it has no turn out 3-5 riders and that's it. Left it pretty much open to any bike 14'' front tire size or smaller. They are on Saturday evening during a week end of motocross practice & racing on the full size track. Every week end I see tons of people riding there pitbike EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME in the pits, can't keep the kids off them. Start a series to give them a reason to ride & NO ONE signs up! DON"T understand people sometimes. Any reasons why no one signs up to race? They are already there & have paid gate fees to get in & have the pitbike there??????????? I have a blast & love it & the few people that have signed up love it as well. Fast 50's is sponsoring the series with some good stuff for series winners.

You got to pump it up! I never even heard about a series in VA. Start a therad and keep it going make flyers and take them to Bike shops talk to all the kids you see riding around and sell it.

Honestly, I never heard of a race series in Virginia. Depending on how far it is from me, I'd want to come by to have some fun. Try to advertise it more and let more people know about it.

Re: new pitbike series with NO turnout?

where's the series at? also, try doing more classes, having 1 general pitbike class won't bring people in...for the most part people will be driving a decent ways to get to the track and to spend all the time and money to get there to race 1 class won't attract anyone. try atleast doing 10in open, 12in open, 10in 88cc and under, and 12in stock.

Re: new pitbike series with NO turnout?

I live in Richmond. Our race series has started out slow. It is a 7 race series. You must race 5 of the seven races to qualify for series ending prizes. Trophies to the top three teams every race. It is on the District 13 motocross website. Races are at Birchcreek MX, Actiontown USA, ECMX. Adult / Youth pitbike race series. Before I went to all the trouble putting this thing together, I asked allot of people about it since they are already there would they ride the series with someone and have some different kind of fun at the track with their kids. EVERYBODY said YES, that would be GREAT! Make it simple, so I did & nobody races?????? The kids ride the wheels off the pitbikes all week end all & everywhere doing everything on them but won't race????

teams? best thing to do is drop the whole team thing offer more classes and you'll get a better turnout...and of course also promote it. if it wasn't for a team race (what 1 adult 1kid on a team?) and you offered more classes i would make it to some.

Re: new pitbike series with NO turnout?

not the easiest thing to promote, plus with insurance forms you need to have make sure all the I's and T's are taken care of. Being all the event's I have worked or sponsered myself there are going to be great times and bad, some you cant beleive you are so dumb and others you say this is the life. Make sure you have a site dedicated to registrations and such so you have a about amount. if you set it up right and offer decent prizes and contact local sponsors you should have a decent turn out!

YES, that's the schedule. I was thinking of something different & fun all at the same time ( team thing)?

if you drop the team thing and offer a couple more classes along with promoting it some you will get riders. the 2up series is in the same general area and there is always a good turnout.
