Redbud

I have confirmation that Redbud is having a pitbike race on Friday night 7/3/09. The sign ups are at 5:00 PM. This is put on by Parts Unlimited and the link below says that it is by invitation only. Don't believe it. I e-mailed the Parts Unlimited rep. in charge to ask some questions and all he said was be there at for sign up at 5:00.

I raced this 2-years ago and they had the following classes:

10in. adult
12in. adult
10in. pro
12in pro

Re: Redbud

does anyone know the cost of the race, and do you need a ama card, if so how much is that??

And, what class should i run, i have a klx 110 with a 143 kit, and aftermarket suspension... i watched the mod class last year and it looked like those bikes had at least 178s in them.

I don't believe that they get to strick on the classes. They seen to put 12in. adult into one big class. They may run a stock class, but I'm not sure on that. See you there #945 & #61

Re: Redbud

The classes are not strict. At highpoint the classes were 12" open and 10" open/stagered with 12" production (12" production is like the stock 110 class). they weren't real particular on the rules. some guy raced willy brownings bike in the 12" production class and they didn't care. There were people riding big wheel playbikes and one guy on a kx60 2smoke. It's all for fun. I don't even know if they give out trophies. I got 4th at the last one but i didn't check.

i was going to race redbud but the guy i go with who is pro isn't racing

Re: Redbud

Wow they really changed things this year. No one who works for redbud had a clue what was going on with the pitbike race. All they could tell us was it was invitation only. We ran down a Part Unlimited dude and found out they had sign-ups at 5:00, no AMA membership required, 1-stock class & 1-mod class, 1-practice & 2-moto's. My son and I signed our name on a plain sheet of paper, gave them $20.00 and we were in. Next thing I know we rode up to the gate & Willie rolls up. After looking around we discovered that it was a pro & celebrity race. Needless to say we finished at the back of the pack but we had several bikes around us. All & All it was a blast. Can't wait untill next year.

Did anyone else race it?
