| 110cc Lifan Engine - Yes/No
Hey guys, looking to purchase a new motor for a little project I'm starting. I don't wanna drop too much dough on this, just wanna get this bike running and learn a little bit doin it! I'd like to get a reliable / decent motor for it though - don't wanna put time and energy into building something that'll break. I'm looking at this one: Hooper Imports Experts on Chinese Motorcycles and Parts - Product Detail It's cheap, so I'm a little hesitant. Any thoughts? Has anyone every used this model Lifan before? 1P52FMH Thanks for any advice you can give! |

Well, $199 seems like a pretty good price to me, especially for NEW. I'm just worried about the quality...

Good quality! Been using them for years in builds for people and in my own bikes. Very reliable. Closest motor too a Honda. JMOP. Trans are solid. Just put in a set of BBR clutch springs. Found the 110 motors to be sluggish. Like the 90cc motors. Put on a perf. pipe like a Minigunz, 20mm carb, lightened flywheel (AHP, T-Bolt) and you have a strong running motor. Dependable, quick and won't break the bank either!

That's good news! It looks like I will be buying this one: [LINK] Hooper Imports Experts on Chinese Motorcycles and Parts - Product Detail [/LINK] I'm putting it into an old 70's Honda CT (Not exactly sure of the year). Is there anything in particular that I should be looking out for with this motor? I know the 12v thing will be an issue, but aside from that I'm not at all familiar with these motors and don't want to find after the fact that I made a bad choice! Thanks for all your help! |

Change those 6v bulbs for 12v! 12v battery too or batt. elimanator. Will be an easy swap into a CT70. Lots-o-room to work! Don't buy the electric start motor at any cost! Kick start only! |

$200 is a decent price. Add a TB piston and a 140 take-out cam and have a nice 88 killer for cheap.

Larry (Hooper Imports owner)is good to deal with. Not a wrench but good business man. No worries. Any one who sells Lifan's buys them from him.
