My Mood: | 12v honda engine vs lifan 140cc
I'm currently building a budget street Z50 currently with a lifan 140cc engine in it. I also have a 12v z50 engine in pieces and over the next 12 months plan to save up some cash and slowly rebuild it. I'll want to put a 4 speed and manual clutch and want to know what bore/stroker/head kit will get similar performance to the 140cc? If parts are going to add up to $700-1000us I want it to be alot more reliable then the lifan. I'm in Australia and we can get lifan 140cc for around $200us, so I need to know that the engine will be similar in performance and last 5 times as long as a lifan for it to be worth it. Which are the best quality/priced kits? Thanks in advance. Here's a pic of the build so far. |

its going to be hard to get anything for 200 bucks. A 4 speed trans is going to cost more than that, a manual clutch is going to cost similar to that, a bore up kit is going to cost more than that. But if I were to guess anything over 108 with a good head and oil cooler is going to be faster and more reliable than the lifan but cost a whole lot more. Nice bike by the way, i like the dual exhaust setup. |

what forks are those? I think i have those same forks that some retard sold me and said they were CRF70 forks. I haven't been able to figure out what they are except that they are not CRF70 forks, hehe

Sweet bike. A TB 117 and AHP 4 speed will get you close, and may squeeze under your budget. I'd personally get an alloy 57mm top end for your 140, do the 70 clutch drive swap and ride it.

TB RH 108,TB manual clutch,APH 4 speed transmission. The TB 108 will probably eat the Lifan 140 for lunch and still be hungry when it's done.
