1972-1978 Z50A Carbon Fiber

Finally some additional aftermarket parts coming out for the 1972-1978 Z50A.

Polished Aluminum Tanks have been out awhile. I run one of these and I'd never go back to steel. No Rust!

More importantly, Carbon Fiber front and rear fenders that fit without modification for those of us who run the JDM taillamp assemblies.

Gotta like the Japanese Market.

didn't know there were different colors of carbon fiber.

what they going for?
would it be a shame to buy the rear and cut it up?

YES, it would be a shame. You'd be better of building your own.

There are all sorts of colors of carbon. Or, if you're a cheapass, there's also different colors of fiberglass. Black fiberglass can be made to look surprisingly like CF...

There are also Carbo-Kevlar weaves and all sorts of fun stuff.

Brad will have a nice write-up that you can follow to a T to make something soon. ****, maybe if you shop at Motoshop Z enough, you can even get a walkthrough at Laguna

I have friends that know how to 'glass/cf stuff and they still won't show me. Like they think I'll steal their thunder or something.

PS.. Wtf is Laguna? lol

Dan,

Do you have any pics of the underside of the polished tanks? I'm curious if they are modeled after the early or the later style K378 tanks (or neither)?

Feel free to e-mail me. I still want one, but I keep putting it off mainly b/c I'm super worried about its lengthy travels to me. I'm gonna wait until I have a good luck month!

Ha. Yeah I need to get it over with eventually.. Might as well soon.

Thanks for clarifying Laguna. All that Californy talk might as well be Greek script.

I did have some, but can't find 'em. They have a relocated petcock so you can run a PC20 without issue, and should be able to run a VM26 with a right side intake on a honda-based engine.
