| 1974 ct70 and Lifan 110
I recently bought a '74 ct70. I eventually want to upgrade the engine with a bore kit, but in the meantime I want to purchase a 110 Lifan manual clutch. Is this a good match for a ct70? I'm assuming I can bolt this right in (besides electrical work)? On the TBOLT website I noticed two different Lifan 110cc motors. One is listed for $225 and the other $349, a substantial difference. Does anyone know the real difference between these motors. Are there different qualities of Lifan motors? Are there any suggestions where I should buy this motor? Thanks - Mike |

If you are going to update to a chinese motor, I don't see any reason to just pop a 110 in there. I think you will be disappointed with the overall performance. If you plan on spending 350 on a motor, find a 140cc or at least a gpx125. You wlll be much happier with the power and performance.

^^^ +2. If you are going to spend some money on a motor then spend a little extra and start with a good base like a 125, 140 0r 150cc motor. You will end up spending more money in the long run if you start with a smaller motor. Trust me I know. Check the vendor area. G2 moto has some 150cc motors on sale. Good prices. Also check out Pitster. |

In my opinion buy a hop up kit for the Honda motor as you will always get your money back on the bike if it has the Honda motor in it -- Lifan motors do not bring the money as everyone knows you can get them for less $ as compared to spending the money on the hop up kits -- The Honda motors are bullet proof period. The 117cc kit is very strong hop up and I am putting one on the motor I got from fatcaaat ( 93 CT70 12volt ) and my friend just put one on his bike ( Hymiep) and just loves it -- My opinion

just from what I have read on here 88cc seem to be where an oil cooler should be considered but you might be able to push that to 100cc.
