????1979 CT70 Pooring Fuel Out Of Carb.????

I have a 1979 Honda CT70 i just finished semi-restoring. I installed a DRATV 88cc kit without cam, with stock carb. Today, i finished installing everything. So, i tried firing her up. As soon as i turned the fuel petcock to the ON position it just starts pooring fuel out of the bowl drain hose?? SO.... I figured my needle was bad. I replaced the needle, and im still getting the same issue? Anyone have a clue what is going on and can point me into the right direction? I will most likely purchase the 20mm carb. But, i thought i'd give the stocker a try first. Thanks in advance!

P.S. The carb. never leaked like this before when i got it in stock form. I might have screwed something up when i took the bowl off???

If you checked and replaced the needle valve, now check the float level. Only two things that will make it overflow. Take bowel off and tap the float see if the needle is moving freely and not hanging up. Doubt if the float suddenly developed a hole in it.

20mm will be a big difference in performance. You also will need a remote petcock which I believe TB has to replace the one on the stock 17mm.

Definately float. Same thing happend to my Z50R carb on my cub. just pull the bowl and make sure the float moves freely.

I'm a bit embarassed to say.
Well...while thinking before i went to bed last night what the problem could be... I came up with the problem! The screw to drain the bowl was not tighten all the way, causing the bowl to drain itself out.

I will be running the bike later today. Will most likely go with the 20mm. We'll see..

Thanks RAZZO and s_10onbagz for your help!!!!!!

It happens to all of us. I used to make alot more of those little basic mistakes, but I am finally getting better. I still spill all sorts of stuff on my garage floor tho.
