1979 z50r

I was looking at a 1979 ZR50R on craigslist and was wondering what it would be worth. He doesn't have any pictures but ill try to describe it as best as possible. It needs a new chain, the thing could use a new paint job, new bushings (or whatever the thing is that goes between where the swing arm connects to the rest of the frame). It does run the guy told be that the topend was rebuilt when he got it. This guys had it for two years. It also does not have a title. The gears were three down is that how its supposed to be? Umm thats all that I can think of, ill try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
-Thanks

Hard to tell what it is worth without pics. Go to the site link below and you will be able to identify a 1979 Z50R. Make sure you check out the all originals gallery too.

It's definitely a 1979 Z50R, he wants $375 dollars.

Pictures do tell a lot.
I paid $550 for mine here in California. Got it from the original owner. All complete and in excellent shape.
What are your plans for the bike? Restore? Everyday cruiser?
Yes, the gears are three down.

Re: 1979 z50r

I got a 1979 Z50R for $350. It came with a TB 88 stock head but all original besides that. Only damage was the tank (big dent) and it was missing the left side number plate and mount. It came with a spare 50 cc motor bored .50 over, two almost complete gasket kits, spare parts, and some tools. I sold the tools. It was probably the best deal I've had. Try to bring the price down no matter what. And nobody can give you a price without pictures. Oh yeah, shift pattern is 3 down on all bikes up to 87. 88 is the first year of 3 up.
