| 1984 chassis/suspension mod questions
My brothers looking to change up some things on his Z. We saw some BBR E-6's on some of the Z's and we were wondering if its possible to put on crf/xr 70 forks? Also we saw some bikes with 80 swingarms. Will the 80 swingarm work on an '84 chassis, or any other swingarm? |

You can use CRF fork innards in your Z50R forks. They bolt on. You can have HD springs and +1 legs for cheap. If you want the CRF70 fork or any CRF based fork as a unit, you will need to shave down the Z50R hub as it is wider on the axis of the axle. For the rear, the only US company that makes Z50R extended swingers is Fast 50's and it is very expensive. Only 1 inch longer. Best option is the XR75 swingarm. Cut 3/16" off inside of both mounts and weld in a tab for the brake panel to slide over. Add some 330mm shocks, a chain, and brake rod and you're all set. Ask me for more details if you need them.

I like the idea of the +1 CRF legs with the mounting brackets for fork guards. Are the CRF and Z50 lower fork assemblies the same and do the legs and the HD springs fit the Z50R lower fork assemblies? Cheers... | |

Yes. All internals are interchangeable.
