| 1998 Z50...need advice on purchase!!!
I have been thumbing the internet for a bike for my 3 yr old son and one for myself (just to be fair.) I ran across this bike and have a few questions. 1) Do the parts and price seem reasonable? 2) Does this sound like a kids bike or dads bike? 3) Are Z50 parts as available as the CRF50's, with as many options? I have a CRF250R and a SX-F 250, so I know bikes, just not mini's...yet! "I have for sale a 1998 Honda Z50. This is a very fast and very fun dirtbike. I am selling it for 600.00 obo. I have over 1200.00 invested in this dirtbike. I have all of the stock parts and the manual to go with it also. The upgrades to it include: ATC-70 cylinder bored 2mm over, pro-x piston, ATC-70 head- ported, new valves, lightened rockers, web cam- race grind, TRX-125 intake, MX-100 carb, UNI filter, Motion pro control kit, BBR rev box, Renthal grips, CR style kill switch, Pro Taper Mini SE bars, ATC-70 top clamp, Powertrap pipe with FMF Powercore muffler (custom), one tooth larger front sprocket, folding shifter, short vent hose with billet top." Thanks for the help, |

Why does the seller have a 6V cylinderhead on a 12V engine? Verify the engine serial numbers and cross reference back to this: Honda50.com Engine Vin Decoder A 1998 Z50R should have a 12V CDI engine in it and you'll want to verify that the bike hasn't been transplanted with a 6V Older Z50 or CT70 engine. It shows a BBR rev box, so most likely it still has a 12V CDI lower end. Looks like a hodge-podge of engine parts to me. |
