hmm... a lot of cool projects could come out of this... Diesel, which could lead to a veggie oil 50. Crazy stuff. Is it direct injected? Probably not. That would make it even easier to convert to diesel. |

wonder if this would increase the chances of them importing them to the US.

Chances of getting those bikes into the USA? Legally - Zero. It's just the ape 50, and probably next week they will announce the new Monkey that's supposed to be injected as well.. Again, zero legal chance to import them. However, it probably wouldn't be too hard to do it illegally, but no way in heck I'm going to mess with the NHTSA, DOT and EPA on that one. Until the aftermarket catches up, those bikes will be dead ducks. In 2-3 years, there will be cost-effective fuel injection for these bikes at any displacment from 50-138 Hondas as I'm sure Takegawa and Kitaco are already working on the tuning interface. |

Woo hoo! I can't wait for FI mini parts to hit these shores... The day carbs are gone from my life will be a very happy day indeed. |

Yeah I've seen a Kitaco or Tak system that runs about $1200. No thanks . But I'm hoping these new JDM EFI minis will drastically reduce the cost of retrofitting our bikes.

I like the new paint job on the special edition, FI is cool too but sounds expensive to do upgrades. They Ditech Aprilia scooter is FI also and getting programs for upgrading it aren't cheap. Hopefully one day we can get these cool bike here in the states.... cough cough

Retrofitting will take some work, but won't be difficult. My guess is the fuel tank has a return line from the FI. The bikes are probably equipped with an electric fuel pump, a tip over switch and other electronics not currently on the bikes. Give me a couple of months and I'll purchase the parts diagrams and see what it will take to retrofit. If they come out with the FI monkey, it will be pretty easy to retrofit a STOCK 50cc engine. BBK's later on once the tuning companies develop the software to control the additional maps. |

And FYI, the 2008 Zoomer is a fuelie, so the US version (Rukus) will probably be as well. Different engine configuration, but will most likely be a similar setup. Honda 「ZOOMER」と「ZOOMER・デラックス」の環境性 \を高め、マイナーモデルチェンジし*売 |

if you guys are serious about fuel injection, check out megasquirt. its a very, very cost efficient option to convert. all youd need is some aluminum fabrication skills, a fuel injector, a carb body and the 100 dollar kit. the whole set up can probably be had for less than 200 bucks if your a real dirt dog :P

They are awesome looking! We never get the really cool motorcycles in the US! Since there's such a huge scooter movement, these things would sell. I'd ride one around town. Unlike most scooters which are dorky, these are cool. Thanks to the EPosA all motorcycles will soon have catalysts and larger mufflers as sound and emissions are cracked down on. This is why you are seeing huge dual exhausts and weight increases to new motorcycles. |

Honda brought over the NSR50R and Dream 50R and NSF100F (All track bikes) and the dealers can't give them away. Honda won't make this mistake again. Everyone wants one until it's time to pony up and pay for them. | |

Ahem... any dealers looking to give away a NSR50R, Dream 50R, or NSF100F, please contact me. :P Edit: Gary, Lifan makes a similar vertical motor, why not 'ape' the Honda and come out with a US Legal version under the Pitster banner? |
