| 69 Z50 K1 Front Fork Question
I've got a 69 Z50 K1 and the tops of the front for tube openings (for the springs) have a flange of sorts welded to the top of the open tubes with holes in them. At the side of the hole is a notch that accepts the flange/washer at the top of the spring. There are several forks on EBay that are listed as 69 K1 that have just open tubes. There are no welded, notched flanges. My question is how do these accept the top of the spring? Could the fork I have be from a later year mini? Can post pictures if this isn't clear. Thanks again for the advice! |

Does the weld look factory and painted? I have not seen something like that. You may have to post picks. Usually they might have 2 small notches in the tops of the tubes to hold it when it is being assembled but the top tree hold the upper in place while the screw on part holds it from coming out the bottom. |

The second pics was what I was talking about and are familiar with. That first pic of the forks may be aftermarket or somekind of later revision. There sould be washers that take the place of the plates that are welded onto the first set that go with the second set. Aftermarket is my guess. |
