My Mood: | 6v to 12v electrical system
Will be purchasing a new motor (Jailing 125) for the Panda Funrider and need to setup for a 12v system. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Thanks, Eddie |

I also have this same question. I think you need a different battery and light bulbs made for 12v |

Do we also need a 12v flasher? And, will a stock CRF50 CDI or a tokyo mods CDI work? And, can we use the stock 6v wiring harness? | |

I'm currrently on the same boat as you. You'll also need a 12v flasher and the stock 6v harness should be fine.

You can use a CRF50 CDI box. You can also modify the Panda wiring harness to work with that motor and 12v lighting. We did that same setup on Reilly118's bike.

| Re: 6v to 12v electrical system Not yet. I'm still waiting for some parts from TB before I pull the old motor. Also, my Over exhaust won't be here until the end of the month so I'm not in a rush. Quote:

I'm pretty sure the original rectifier will work. They are more current sensitive than voltage and higher voltage systems draw less current.

What do you guys think about this: 6_VOLT REGULATOR RECTIFIER CONVERTS_12V CLONE_ENGINES TO_6_VOLT!! KEEP_ORIGINAL LIGHTS_BATTERY Do I need to order anything else like a harness or something? EDIT: maybe this won't work, it says it only controls the headlight voltage. Not sure if it does the blinkers and brake light? Quoted from website... WITH THIS YOU CAN DO AN ENGINE SWAP AND STILL KEEP THE ORIGINAL 6 VOLT LIGHTS HORN BATTERY AND WELL IT JUST MAKES THINGS EASIER!! WITH THIS REGULATOR RECTIFIER YOUR BATTERY WILL STAY CHARGED MUCH MUCH BETTER THAT WITH THE ORIGINAL HONDA 6 VOLT SYSTEM,, AND THE HEAD LIGHT IS MUCH BRIGHTER TOO, AS THERE IS PLENTY OF JUICE EVEN AT IDLE WITH THE NEW TYPE STATOR THAT THE CLONES HAVE. THIS ONE ITEM CONTROLS THE HEADLIGHT VOLTAGE (AC 6 VOLTS) TO KEEP THE HEADLIGHT FROM BURNING OUT,, AND IT GIVES THE BATTERY PLENTY OF 6 VOLT DC TO KEEP IT FULLY CHARGED AT ALL TIMES.. I'd just switch everything to 12v. Makes it easier to get things like bulbs/batteries later. I should have my bike started this weekend. My exhaust should be here tomorrow and other than finishing up the wiring, I'll need to modify the intake pipe that I got with the Lifan 125 (intake too tall. I need to cut, shorten, and angle it). Let me know if you need and help. |

I'm running a 12 to 6 volt regulator on my ct and it works fine. At idle the lights are as bright as full throttle.
