My Mood: | 96 Z50 needs an engine
Whats up fellas...I picked up a 96 Z50 that needs a little work such as new magnito and shaft seal. The part where the cantact is mounted to the case is snapped off. Im thinking about just getting a complete engine just do I can ride for now and fix it later. One of the enginges Im looking at is from a 1970-1974 K1 Thru K4 Honda Mini Trail. Does anyone know if this will mount up and align? Also I want to keep my stock exhaust. Thanks. |

most of the honda style engine have the same exact 2 bolt engine mount, you might consider getting a china 125 but you'll probably wind up keeping it instead of using the slow poke 49.

Mike, Is the issue where the motor mounts to the frame as cdoublejj suggests or with the pickup coil mounting tabs on the stator plate? |

Don't go backwards on the motor.. The older ones shift down and have points for ignition... Send it up to me and I will go through it.. For real, I have been laid off and need some work... I probably have all the parts to fix the motor... Good used Honda motors usally go for no less than 250 plus shipping on e-bay... For half that I'll get her running like a top for ya!! |

I've got a 1989 Honda engine. It runs but just needs a good clean-up. Make me a offer. The carb isnt on it but I do have it. The intake bolt threads are stripped so I took it off. The stator case at the rear over the sprocket the bolt hole is cracked at the bottom, but you have to look at it close to see it.

My Mood: | Re: 96 Z50 needs an engine Well, if your motor is sound and just needs the stator plate deal behind the Flywheel.. Maybe a set of rings, you'll be stylin.. Wouldn't even waste money on a different motor... I have buddies that bring like 2-3 basket case over and by the end of the night we got one ripper..lol
