Well - pretty simply question, but I haven't seen it posted.

I am trying to build a semi-custom z50 and want to get it street legal. My state, Washington, appears to be getting tighter on allowing tags on bikes that were originally sold as off-road only.

Were any of the US spec Z50 bikes sold as street/trail designation? So they were actually street legal and licenseable? I have a good used frame from a 73 z50 that I need to get an ITS title for, but may not if I cannot get it tagged.

Anyone have any experience in this area?

Couldn't you simply say the motorcycle was custom made?

Well - I could do that, but if I can get away from that avenue, I don't actually have to have it inspected.......
