Different but hardly worth a third of the asking price IMO.

Re: AJS z50? pretty cool

AJS is/was a parts dealer in the UK who sold a bunch of chinese parts and other Honda stuff. I haven't heard that name in a long time.

The Metisse kits were kinda cool, but aren't worth that much $$.

Re: AJS z50? pretty cool

That bike in the auction sold for $550! ouch. They had a kit w/ just the parts for the conversion that sold for more than the bike w/ all the parts on it!

AJS was in fact a bona fide British motorcycle manufacturer, fielded a roadrace team and everything. Petered out somewhere in there as the British motorcycle industry fell into decline. Maybe they had a parts-distributing phase later on or something, or maybe it's a different AJS?

That Rickman is odd. I've only seen the vintage Rickman MX bikes, with Zundapp or Sachs engines or something in shiny nickel-plated Rickman frames, with bodywork just like that Z but pale blue in color.

A Rickman Z. Cute, I guess. Those British used to draw some sexy-shaped bodywork for bikes and sportscars.
