| THE BATTERY! 1974 ct70
I'm in the middle of installing a 6 volt reg/rect. in my 1974 ct70. Is the Battery essential? Can I wire the bike without the battery in the circuit? I do not plan on running turn signals. Thanks |

I am sure if your ct70 came with turn signals from the factory and you plan on having it street legal you will need turn signals, the battery also helps with lighting your headlight and tail/brake light. With out the battery your headlight and brake light will be dim, the stator on it's own does not give enough juice for the lights to function to full capacity. Some may disagree and I am only going by what I have read on this forum. |

Yes you can run it without a battery but your lights will be dim at low rpm. You could put an in-line capacitor in there instead of the battery to eliminate that. As for signals...I have a 1974 street legal without signals on it.
