Just be sure to take some care starting it or you to can have one like mine this happened when it kicked back when starting it.. Cracked a couple of the teeth on the starter gear the clutch hub sits on and cracked the crankcase too below the bearing. |

You will more than likely still need to grind enough clearance into the swing arm pivot. To clear the back side engine bolt boss.Just do it..... |

| Re: best deal on a lifan 150 No, the Lifan 150 fits right in there, no problem.. You're probably thinking of the YX engines that have the clearance issue on the back motor mount where it meets the swinger.

Does the Lifan 150 have the CRF type exhaust port or the KLX type?

The IRK needs to be pulled off the engine and a new stator/flywheel needs to be installed, quick and easy. Make sure that the oil cooler you get actually fits the engine and the person you buy the engine off of knows this. If your engine is coming with a Molkt, a jet kit would be a nice thing to have also. You'll also need a new, wider peg bracket with a kickstand mount for a CRF50, fast 50's has them... Good luck on your build.. Dan

I was thinking of the Lifans.I had grind clearence for my 140cc Lifan. Also, The 150cc lifan that we are putting in my Brother in-laws ct- 70 isn't going to fit unless we do the same thing. We just found that out last night..

Monkeytom.... That's interesting as I have a 140cc Lifan in my Trail70. I have the same experience but have not damaged the motor yet. If I don't kick it through really slowly then the kick started gets locked up half way down the kick stroke. The motor has alot of compression. What I have noticed is a little bit of knocking in the middle of the engine in the gear box. Although it is not really bad, I know that it's there and am concerened. Muxster |

No I sure don't.... It wasn't much though but the engine mount hole would not line up because of the Casting contacting the swing arm Tabs.... The tab's on the swing arm are what needed a little grinding work.... When he test fit my 140cc he noticed it and it looks to be about the same with his 150cc lifan. It wasn't and isn't a huge deal. Some guys just may run into it some may not...

What about those Jialing 160cc cylinder and Piston Kits? Anyone installed one of those on the Lifan 140cc?

In both our cases once the top bolt was in it, everything couldn't be lined up any better. The engine cannot be adjusted except in a downward rotation to meet that bottom hole. |

MonkeyTom, What do you mean by "Just be sure to take some care starting it"? I wouldn't want it to happen to me... |

My 150 also fit right into my KO CT70. Also my peg mount went right on. It clears the clutch cover by about a 1/4 inch and it's not bent. Lucky?

| Re: best deal on a lifan 150 The Lifan 150 uses a 15mm wrist pin, so the piston in TB's kit won't work. I've got to make some measurements to see if Akunar's piston with some minor case modding will work instead.
