Build questions (pics inside)

My buddy is working on his build

Its a 1974? with a Lifan 125 in it

He isn't very computer savvy so I'm posting for him. ..........

Which rectifier do you use with the Lifan 125 cc motor? Ideally 6v to use with the stock headlight and taillight however bulbs can be changed to 12 v. 12 v would be his preference.

Petcock / carburetor interference. What is an easy fix? Different petcock available?

BTW its a true PM build because he got a bunch of the stuff on this bike from PM members (bars / tank / fork uppers / side cover / exhaust etc....)

Thanks

Will

Re: Build questions (pics inside)

Can anyone help with which petcock to source that will screw into an OEM honda tank, but still clear the Carb from the Lifan?

What about the rectifier issue?

Pickup a 12V regulator/rectifier from Dr. ATV or hoopers for $19. Dead easy, they have the 6V at dratv too (why you'd do this is beyond me).

Take the fuel petcock to your local Home Desperate and check out the plumbing section, full selection of brass to make up what you want.

Dratv also has a 12 volt to 6 volt rec. too so you can run all your stock stuff.

The Home Depot has only standard fittings!!!! I have checked the pet cock and it is a 12mm by 1.0 thread. I have been to 5 stores and will try a hydraulic fittings shop tommorow. I thought Canada was a metric country!

I ran into exactly the same problem last weekend. Just so you know, you can scratch Princess Auto off you list too.
