My Mood: | can I put a key switch on a 96 z50r? I was wondering If a 96 z50r had a key switch on it stock? Mine doesn't, its wired to a toggle (previous owner). I'm adding a new kill switch, and wondered if the stock didnt come with one(key switch), could I add a key switch to it? I only ask because The only ones I can find have four wires, with a plug, I know if It was just black and red it would work, But Im not sure what the other two are for. ![]() Thanks Bizzel Last edited by Bizzel; 10-23-2009 at 10:39 PM. i use a crf50 switch on mine. you will have to splice a couple connectors in or run a crf harness so you have a spare ground and kill wire for the extra kill switch.

| Re: can I ? right; on hardtails there's a 3-position key switch: off, on, on w/lights being the three positions. The extra two wires are for lighting. You could run one of those and not use the light wires and just have an unneeded key position, I guess.
