Can you pin point the age of this bike?

OK looken' to pick up this bad boy to restore, or maybe make it my "rat bike". Just want to know the age of it so I can track down parts. I was told its was a 72 z50 mini trail. Im incline to beleave him, but.......I haven't seen the bike in person yet, so I don't know if it has any markings on it, But i wouldn't know were to look for it anyway so.... Sorry its so big

72's had back shocks, it is a 1971 hardtail, you can tell by the oval tank badges.

Here is a ID guide by Honda50.com. That is a Chinese motor. Not original.

The e-start engine and ATV thumb throttle are NOT OEM Honda equipment, either...

Re: Can you pin point the age of this bike?

Longest Z50 intake manifold ever; check that thing out! The carb's about on top of the motor mounts! Ought to be good for low-rpm resonance-assisted cylinder filling...

Does it have a rear brake pedal, or a pivot hole on the right rear frame loop for one? That would be a good indicator if it's a '71 frame or not. Otherwise might be a '71 tank on an older frame.

Those do in fact look like wheelbarrow tires.

1st.)Thanks for the spot on the age!

2nd.)Ok like I said I haven't seen it in person yet its about 75 miles away from me and with the holidays I've been busy as sh#t. I kow that the motor isn't oem, The guy told me it had a "new motor", I assumed it was a chinese, which honestly I don't really care about (I have a lifan 110, and love it). The tumb throttle is easy enough to fix, and Im not sure how you can tell about the e-start but......as far as the tires, also an easy fix, I thought I might get some white walls!!

I guess what Im asking is is it worth say, $100 bucks? I'm told it runs.

Lastly) And she says it all the time! well at least fro the last 9 years.......... hey--oh!

So Judging by the guides without seeing the numbers, its probably a K1?

For sure worth 100 bucks, that is a good start to a project, espically a rider.
