Do you need a gasket between the actual carb and manifold? I've always assumed that the black o-ring on the carb should fit flush against the manifold flange.

-or should I have a gasket there?

I just moved my my 70cc motor into my Z50.

Yes you do because the inake will ge too hot. Unless u have the heat sheild beween the inake and head hen i will be fine wih just the o ring
