My Mood: | Change'n an 86 Z50 motor from 3 down to 3 up ???
I was wonder'n if I could put my 03 Xr shift shaft and shift arm or just the shift arm in to the 86 motor ?? Go'n from wide open second to 1st gear over rev has gotta be put'n a hurt'n on my motor ?????? ....... |

You will need to swap out the shift drum and star. The rest SHOULD be able to stay the same. Someone else can confirm this. But when I had a 1988 Z50R, I hated the 3 up pattern, I did the exact same when shifting. I started with a 1980 Z50R so I was still used to that pattern.
