who makes a cheap repop of the 79 to 87 style z50 seat? I've got to get a better seat on my wifes 72'. I know I'll probably have to do some mods to make it work but that should be no problem.

I don't think anyone makes knock-offs of those seats. You could find used ones on eBay for less than $50, or you can buy new for about $110.
