| Chinese Engine question
OK... i have actually searched. alot of threads i have found have been older. and ive also heard that the quality has improved recently.. i know that the N-1-2-3-4 UP tranny is alright (from what ive read) and a crude but effective way of finding first. QUESTION:: im going mod/resto to my 70h. i want a chinese engine this season. i have a LARGE chunck of change going to my car for auto x. i dont have the money or time to rebuild my engine. im looking for a 300-400 dollar engine (prefer to have cooler, carb, and all for that price) the engines im looking at are :::: (ALL FROM TBOLT, and add 30-50 for shipping) LIFAN 140 ($399 without cooler) GPX 140 ($349 with everything) G2 140 ($309 without cooler) Piranha 140 ($299 without cooler) (leaning twards the GPX.) now... ive heard that the 140's suck in general.. but have only heard this with the lifan, and that was a year ago with 1-N-2-3-4 i think. are they all the same engine at different prices? or how does that work? does the 140 suck? ive heard numerous people say that the tranny is the suck, but they've since changed it. if so, i dont have the budget for a 150 with cooler and carb. if this question has been answered recently, im sorry. i have been reading for a few days now. (and for those who will ask. im keeping the stock 70 4spd for a rebuild and a BBK on down the line. i will then swap on the stock engine so i have matching numbers and throw the 140 on my spare frame. id rather have a running bike in 2 weeks than in 6-8 months) any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks |

thats good to hear. you have the 4 up tranny? i figured that when it said "TB race cam, and 160cc kit fits this engine" on all 3 of them that they would have to be similar. i wanted to jump on the GPX kit when i saw it. 380ish with shipping for the engine, cooler, carb, wires, cdi and coil, clutch and throttle cables included. not bad for 380 | |
