My Mood: | CHP 10" wheels. Any input on these?
Ive been thinking about getting these and a gorilla tank for my build. Has anyone picked up a set of these? Is the quality decent? Any suggestions on sticky tires that will match these wheels? |

They're for a CT. Z's only have a 3-bolt hub right?

the newer (not sure what year 84+??) Zs have a 3 bolt hub. the older Zs have a 4 bolt hub. That shouldnt be a problem

1979 was the last year of the 4-bolt hub pattern. 1980-99' were all 3 bolt.

You'd better get measurements on those wheels as if they truly measure out to 4.0" wheels like the Japanese measure them, you are going to have fitment issues unless you are running a wide swingarm and offset sprockets for chain clearance unless you have tires that are too narrow and stretch them over the rims. You'll need a longer swingarm unless you want the tire right up against the front of the swingarm, and in the front you'll need longer fork legs. My 4.0" JDM rims take a 130/70/10 tire, require offset front and rear sprockets and a dedicated wide swingarm to work on a Z50. And the JDM wheels measure out from outer lip to outer lip at over 5.25". The Japanese measure the inner Dish before they go vertical to the lip and not outer lip to outer lip and the wheels bolt together with 8 bolts and not 4 per wheel. Get the true measurements as I wouldn't classify those wheels as 4" wide wheels as the Japanese aftermarket would measure them. More like 2.5" wide wheels. Before fitting 10" wheels on a Z50, think about how a bigger diameter tire is going to fit and what other aftermarket parts will be needed to run those so you don't hit the tires to the front of your engine and the tires physically fit in your rear swingarm. That's my 2 cents for the week. | |
