| CT 70 Longer swingarm imput
Found this GREAT site & hope someone has installed a longer swingarm on their CT 70 & can let me know the pros./cons. of spending $300 bucks to gain 4" in length. I am looking to trail & street ride my 1979 & 1982 70s. The arm im looking at is sold by CHP. Know that both of my bikes will do 45-50 & thats part of why im looking into the longer arm. Any info would be great ! Thanx |

Not worth it. Just upgrade your rear shocks from stock pogo sticks. CHP sells a set of Kitaco shocks for under a $100. Work real well. I have a couple of CT's. Street - 1992 CT70 w/ 88 RH 16T/33T & 1970 White Dax w/ 114cc 4-spd. 16T/33T. Stock swingers. Alum. swinger looks great but not needed. |

Extended swingarms on a CT70 look like poo and throw off the lines of the bike unless you take the time to custom fabricate a proper rear fender for the bike. And, as Mike pointed out above, they are not needed since the CT70 does not suffer from a short wheelbase like the Z50's do in stock form. What is needed is inspecting the original swingarm bushings and replacing them if you have play. |

********** .com has one for 195, its kinda plain but its as good looking as any of the cheaper ones. if youre gonna blow 300 spend the extra and go G-craft, i could be wrong but i think they are around 400 for some of theirs. they have the nicest stuff available for sure but its very expensive

Great, Thank you all for your advice. I didn't even think about longer arm not matching rear fender. Yes on the rear shocks making a big diff. I bought the piggy back ones & they do work very well. I will pull the stock arms & check bushings/bearings. Thanx again! |

Trail buddy $95.00 a set. Don't know how long they will last & still haven't played with the nitrogen pressure. So far much better than the cheeper ones they sell & came with the bike I bought.

Yes they look like they should cost $250 each! When I got them I couldn't belive how cool they looked. And yes they work much better than stock. I would recommened them. Still wish I had a longer a arm to work with the new shocks. I do not plan to show the bike nor am I a collector. Street/ trail riding is my goal so a good working suspension & a bike that handles at speed is my is important.

I have an 4" extended swingarm on my CT70 and I have to agree with Z...it does throw off the lines of the bike and takes a significant amount of work to get the rear fender correct. I don't like how mine came out and I am likely to go back to the original CT70 Swingarm in the near future...just as soon as I can figure out how to make it compatible with my rear disc setup I already own. And to be honest, I feel no difference in stability between my extended swinger CT70 and my stock swinger CT70 even at speeds exceeding 60mph. Upgrade your forks and shocks first...and your brakes.

Fatcaaat....can you send me a pic of that rear disc setup? I did extactly what you said. I am working on front end first, disc etc. I was really thinking about a Gcraft swinger but now have to rethink that. I eventually want a rear disc setup and I cannot stand drum brakes and stopping is everything to me. My buddies and I mainly ride hills and turns in Palos Verdes where we live. |

BUY THESE. For the love of god, don't buy them. They are not nitrogen, they are filled with gross oil and are stiff as hell, plus one of the seals blew on me from normal street riding and now i have that oil **** all over the place
