My Mood: | CT Clone Compatability Question
Ok, who knows about rear axle adjusters - you know, those lollipop-shaped thingamabobs that let you adjust the rear axle position when adjusting the chain and like that. Both of them on my sorry-butt LFGY-3 CT70 clone are stripped. I'm still riding it, but with a wad of washers on each side. I'd buy a couple from American Lifan, but I'm afraid that they. too, will be made from forged and anodized tofu like mine, and will soon fail. So the question is, will OEM Honda's work here. or what? If they will, who's got 'em? thanks as always, rhm |

thanks, slimbo (link's busted, btw, even w/out the extra http). Yep, the Big Four dealer is just around the corner, and of course the counterman could dust off the CT70 fiche for me like he's done before, and order me up a set, but he cautions that he won't take 'em back if they're not right for the Lifan, hence the question. Lotta fabricators and mix-n-matchers on PM; just thought somebody might have both a CT and a clone chassis around, and could take a look... |

| Re: CT Clone Compatability Question OEM Honda part #40543-063-000 for the '77 CT70, same one is used on the '69-'78 Z50A. If your Lifan has a 12mm axle, I should think they will work for you...

Well, gee! Thanks again, Slimbo - I had used dratv for some speedo parts back in June that didn't work out, and had forgotten abouut those guys. Looks like their #24C may be just the ticket - will get a pair asap. And thanks to you also, dirtbkr - nice to hear from you again. I'll havta throw the Harbor Freight E-lectronic caliper on that axle and see what's-what. The OEM part will be easy enough to order if dratv's don't work out, and cheap. As always, much respect and gratitude to the helping hands at PM. cheers, rhm |
