ct problem

I have a takegawa r-stage 88 on my xr50 right now and jsut got a 117. i was thinking about putting the 88 on my 70 to make it faster. will this work or are the clearances different or what? thanks

If you're talking about swapping the entire 88 top end on to a 70 bottom end, sure, as long as the rod length is the same. 70 and 50 are pretty much the same bottom end except for the clutch and primary gear.

yes thats what im asking. and i dont know if the rod length is the same. thats what im asking... its a 1974 ct by the way

Nope. The early rod is 3mm shorter and will leave the piston that far in the hole. You'd need a 6v Tak piston, or a 12v crank. Swap the whole XR motor in to the CT?

well this 88 is roached anyway so it needs a new topend. so i can get a 6v 88 piston from tak?

Trailbikes makes a 6V piston for the CT70 head and alot cheaper then Takegawa.

nvm, i would be using the tak head on the 70 anyway so the one for the 70 head wouldnt work right? sorry for the triple post

Could be, I have several 50mm ones, a rebuilt Tak and new some generic chinese ones like the big names put in their boxes, and come in 107 SDG/Lifan/etc.

106cc, $175 shipped. That's half of new, with new Honda pin, bearing, and heavy duty rod(not 50 stuff).

wait so if i got this crank then could i use i regualar topend? since the crank will be the same length as a 50 one? or do i need the same 6v topend?
