CT70 Auxillary Gas Tank options

Anyone have a link, or idea on CT70 gas tank options. Because these things only hold .66 gallons, they don't make an ideal option for long range riding. I usually get 40 miles out of a tankful on my ct70. But I like to ride it for 200 mile excursions sometimes.

Usually, I carry a 1.5gallon gas can on the back rack but it gets in the way when I ride 2-up with my wife on the back. And, it gets in the way when I try to carry my backpack. I don't have a front rack to carry anything.

What about a chrome or steel oil tank used for choppers? That ct90 one is too small, so don't even suggest. I need to get at least an additional gallon and if that means running a spare tank on either side of the seat, so be it.

Put a rack on your bike and fabricate something that will work. If you ran 2 G-craft units (right and left mount) you wouldn't have enough $$ to pay for the gas, and it still wouldn't hold the gallon or two you need... I'd get a rack and fabricate something to work. That's the downside to the CT70's as you are aware.

Do what Ferg did and use the whole interior of the frame as one giant gas tank!

Is there any way that you could mount a normal tank on the main frame tube? To make it look like most other motorcycles? I know it's ugly in this picture but it's just an idea. It's just a thirty second Photoshop.

Make the frame into one big tank. That is what I am planning on doing.. Then I am going to ride the bike to Hawaii.

Does it have room on the top to hold a 6 pack as well?

This is so, when you run out of gas, you can just sit down and drink ?

Those would look pretty good painted to match the bike. Good find. I say you should fabricate some of your own. I like my G-craft piece, but I don't need to go on that long of a ride to justify carrying two of those bad boys..

Fiddy of the Month

LMAO With those coolers full, I bet the CT would wheelie easier, another added bonus.

what about something like this? Any ideas where I could mount such a beast? I dont' think it would fit up into the frame.

This is the bike it is going on. a 5x11" tank will take up a lot of room somewhere.

I don't see that being mounted anywhere else except lengthwise on top of the frame between the steering head and the front of the seat, if you have the clearance.

Turn the frame into a tank. Holds plenty of petrol, and no extra tanks slapped on anywheres. Alt options... Rig a 'dual pipe setup with one pipe a dummy acting as a tank?
