| CT70 frame registration help
Hey guys, I used to be on here all the time with my crf50. Now Im getting back into the small motored toys. I am looking at buying a frame with a bill of sale from a guy on craigslist with a bunch of them. Should that be a problem to get registered back for the street? I know its way easy if you have the pink, but without......am I shooting myself in the foot? Is 50$ a good deal for a frame with a swing arm? Thanks! |

If you get a bill of sale with it, you should be able to go through something like International Title Service (google it; informative web site) and get a title. You'll probably be directed to get the serial # traced by some local police agency to verify it's not stolen at some point in the past. The bill of sale plus a notary seal along with the forms I.T.S. provides, plus their fee, ought to get you a title.

Yep. Going through a title service costs $100 or so, plus the wait, plus the explaining what's going on to Doris or Fayrene or Clivelda down at the DMV office. If you have to pay a couple hundred more for one with a title, and you can swing it, it's definitely going to save some trouble.

You dont say what state you are in. But California wont take any documentation from any title service.

So I found a 1970 ct70 for $70. I picked it up. missing bunch of parts, but the frame and swing arm are in good shape. plate is on it, last registered in 1984. hope it doesnt have a history that bites me in the butt.

That's just incredible that you found one with a plate. I found out today I can drive on the street untitled, untagged, uninsured with just a valid driver's license!
